Olu of Warri’s wife hails husband’s CFR honour

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, was on Tuesday conferred with the national honour of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

Celebrating the monarch’s conferment, his wife, Olori Atuwatse III, serenaded her husband with praises.

On her Instagram page on Tuesday, the monarch’s wife praised her husband for his “humanitarian achievements”.

She wrote, “Today, the 11th of October 2022, I celebrate my husband and my king, Ogiame Atuwatse III @oluofwarri who has served his people and the nation at large with humility and compassion.

“In one year of ascending the throne, his humanitarian achievements in brokering peace and deepening the prestige of Want Kingdom have been lauded by all kinds of publications.

“This morning, I watched with great joy as this beacon of hope that I’m privileged to support became one of the youngest Nigerians to be conferred with the rank of CFR.

“The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, formally conferred the National Award of Commander of the order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

“This is no small feat and such a great honour. Join me today in celebrating our magnanimous modern monarch.”

During the ceremony, 447 citizens and foreigners labelled as “Nigerians and Friends of Nigeria,” received various honours ranging from the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger and Federal Republic Medals.
