Group mobilises 200 canvassers for Tinubu, others in Kogi

D’mandate, a group of professionals consisting of young elite and volunteers from Yagba West Local Council, Kogi State, who are sympathetic to All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2023 elections, has launched ‘Operation Sweep it Up’.

The launch, which held at Egbe, the commercial nerve of Yagba West, culminated in the selection and inauguration of 200 canvassers across the polling units in the 14 electoral wards of the council.

Operation Sweep it Up translates to delivering all the available elective posts to the APC within the local council, the group said.

Meanwhile, the canvassers are expected to work between now and after the general election in March 2023.

The group also volunteered to take care of the monthly bill of the canvassers, who are expected to woo voters to ensure a clean sweep for the APC in Yagba West.

The candidates in focus, whose billboards and souvenirs were on display during the colourful ceremony at St. John’s Primary School, Egbe, are Bola Tinubu (presidential candidate), Sunday Karimi (Kogi West senatorial candidate), Folorunsho Olafemi (Yagba House of Representatives candidate) and Yemisi Oshaloto (Yagba West House of Assembly candidate).

The spokesman for the group, Mr. Odebola Odeyemi, who urged the canvassers to justify the confidence reposed in them, disclosed that supervisors had also been engaged to monitor their activities and make changes when necessary.
