Obaseki did not endorse Peter Obi – Aide

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, said he did not endorse the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for the 2023 presidential election.

Obazeki’s special adviser on media projects, Crusoe Osagie, disclosed this in a statement titled ‘Rumours of Obaseki endorsement of Peter Obi, false’ on Wednesday.

Osagie stated that no statement to such effect originated from governor Obaseki.

He said; “The story is being peddled by detractors with ulterior motives, intent on misleading and misinforming members of the public for their selfish interest,”

He noted that Governor Obaseki has been at the forefront of the campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa from the onset of the electioneering cycle.

According to Osagie, the governor will deploy his massive support base to ensure PDP victory and its candidates in the forthcoming general elections

He however urged the public to watch out for antics of quacks and unprofessional media organizations as well as unscrupulous individuals, seeking to misinform and stir confusion with their outright fake news.
